Making Treats like this genuinely isn’t genuinely my thing.
Or at least that’s what Malloree told me. I guess, judging by those knuckles, I’d have to agree. However these witch fingers are so fun and truly straightforward to make, especially if you have kids or, are like me, and not the most artistic.
To Make These Witch Fingers Set out:
- candy melts
- pretzels
- pumpkin seeds
- toothpick
My local grocery store was out of green candy melts, so I opted to use a mixture of turquoise and yellow to get a more vibrant green. For this, I used 3/4 cup yellow and 1/2 cup turquoise.
As for what type of pretzels to use. Look for “pretzel dippers”. Snyder is the brand I found.
Place the candy melts into a heatproof bowl and set it over a saucepan filled with an inch of water. You do not want the water to touch the bottom of the bowl.
Bring the water to a simmer and allow the steam to heat the bowl and melt the candy melts.
Stirring until smooth.
Pour the melted candy melts into a heat safe measuring cup and dip each pretzel. Swirling the pretzel to get it mostly coated.
Tap or gently shake off most the excess, so you get this gnarly looking texture.
Secure the pumpkin seeds by pressing them into the soft candy or dot each seed with a little of the melted candy and attach it that way.
Once slightly cooled, use the toothpick to make knuckle wrinkles.
Once the chocolate is set, you can serve!
