Home Kitchen Everything Seasoning

Did you know you can make Kitchen-made Everything Seasoning at home for a fraction of the cost? It’s great on avocado toast, sprinkled on buttered rolls before baking or buttered popcorn. Basically, put it in or on whatever you want to everything!

Did you know everything seasoning isn’t only for bagels? Although it only so happens that the everything bagel is exactly what started my love for all things everything. The seasoning that’s sprinkled on those gloriously carb filled doughnut wannabes can be used in so many ways.

I’ve everything-ed pita triangles for dipping in hummus, buttered popcorn and it’s standout sprinkled on these pigs in a blankets or party sandwiches. And simply about every morning I make fried eggs, turkey sausage and avocado toast that I sprinkle a little everything seasoning on top.

It’s pretty safe to say that Worth keeping this everything seasoning. So…

What’s In Everything Seasoning?

Essentially, everything seasoning is a mixture of dehydrated garlic and onion with sesame seeds and poppy seeds. It’s basically it’s everything BUT the bagel. I like to use a mixture of black and white sesame seeds, for contrast with the blue poppy seeds, golden dried garlic and white onion. I don’t add kosher salt to my everything seasoning, but you completely could!

To cook this Everything Bagel Seasoning Gather:

  • poppy seeds
  • dried minced garlic
  • dried minced onion
  • toasted sesame seeds
  • black sesame seeds

There’s no right or wrong brand. I will first say, buy what you can afford. However, not all spices are created equal as you tend to get what you pay for. Currently I use Morton & Bassett (not sponsored) because I find their spices to be top notch in texture, color and flavor. A regular here and respect what their company stands for not only with charitable work but also quality control. With that said some other welcome brands I’ve used over the years are Simple Organic, Frontier Co-op and Penzys.

Into a clean jar, add 2-1/2 tablespoons poppy seeds, 2 tablespoons dried minced garlic, 1-1/2 tablespoons dried minced onion, 1-1/2 tablespoons both toasted and black sesame seeds.

Stir to combine and have it on hand for whenever the mood strikes to everything something.
