This method serves 2 but can easily be scaled down for 1.

Craving something tropical? I’ve got you.

Currently my fruit bowl contains mangos, dragonfruit, bananas and pineapple. I’m obsessed. Spring has sprung here in Michigan, but it’s hardly warm outside. And after spending an entire week vacationing on St. Pete Beach, I want to surround myself with everything sunny and tropical.

One of the first things I made after arriving home was this mango smoothie. I call “golden hour” because I’m a total dork and also because it’s packed with healthy fruits, protein and a dash of turmeric giving it that 6pm, sun-is-setting, golden glow color.

Deeply good and Deeply good for you!

To cook this Golden Mango Smoothie Set out:

  • plain nonfat greek yogurt
  • vanilla protein powder (optional)
  • unsweetened vanilla macadamia nut milk (I use milkadamia) or milk of choice
  • mango (frozen)
  • pineapple (frozen)
  • banana (frozen)
  • turmeric

Start by adding 1/2 cup of plain nonfat Greek yogurt into your blender. This helps get the smoothie nice and creamy without adding any fat.

If using, add 1 serving (usually 2 scoops) vanilla protein powder and then pour in 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened vanilla macadamia nut milk. Or use the milk you prefer.

Lastly add in 1-1/2 cups (frozen) mango, 1 cup (frozen) pineapple, 1 (frozen) banana and add a pinch or two of ground turmeric.

Secure the lid and blend. Scrape the sides and add a splash more milk if mixture is too thick and won’t blend smoothly.

Stunning! 💛

Divide among glasses and grab a straw.

Sip, sigh and repeat.

  • freeze fresh fruit on a parchment lined, rimmed sheet pan over night and store in a freezer safe container.
  • frozen fruit is go-to for a creamy and icy smoothie.
  • avoid using ice cubes as it causes separation in the smoothie once the ice melts.
  • plain non fat Greek yogurt is great in smoothies as it lends to the creaminess without adding fat and a ton of calories.
